For how long are tickets valid?

When purchasing your ticket, you must choose a specific date for your visit. In the case of the National palace of Pena, in addition to the date, you must also select the time of your visit from among the selection of time slots available. Your ticket must be used on the date and at the time (where applicable) for which it is purchased and only one entry is valid per ticket.

How do I access parks and monuments?

When planning your visit, take into account the various traffic restrictions in force in the Sintra mountains and within the historic centre. We draw your attention to the fact that access to the Moorish Castle and the Pena Palace is prohibited to private vehicles and driving within the historic centre is limited to residents. We recommend that you prepare your visit to Sintra in advance, seeking information about access by public transport and road traffic. On what days are the parks and monuments closed?

The parks and monuments managed by Parques de Sintra are open every day of the year, with the exception of Christmas (24 and 25 December) and New Year (31 December and 01 January). Some monuments may close occasionally due to State events, restricted access to the Sintra Mountains forest perimeter due to the risk of fire or extreme weather conditions, or for other extraordinary reasons.
